Man Struck and Killed by SUV in North Hollywood
North Hollywood is becoming a dangerous place to walk around; earlier this week an elderly man was killed as he crossed the street in the early hours of the morning, and yesterday a 52-year-old man was fatally injured on Whitsett Blvd.
City News Service reports that Leo Loponen was crossing Whitsett near Kittridge Street at about 10:30 p.m. when he was hit by an SUV. The woman driving the car, described only as in her 20s, stopped and cooperated with police. She wasn't cited pending an investigation.
Loponen died at the scene.
