A man convicted of throwing his 4-year old daughter off a cliff was given a life sentence without the possibility of parole.Cameron John Brown was found guilty of first-degree murder for the death of his 4-year old daughter, Lauren Sarene Key back in May. It was the third trial for Brown, who prosecutors allege threw his daughter over a Rancho Palos Verdes cliff in 2000 to avoid paying child support. Brown's attorney says the incident was simply a tragic accident, according to the L.A. Times.

Prosecutors say Brown "despised" the mother of his child killed his daughter for revenge and because he was tired of paying child support. Brown maintains the girl simply slipped fell to her death.

In the previous two trials, juries deadlocked over whether to convict him of first-degree murder, second-degree murder or involuntary manslaughter.
