LAX Evacuated This Morning Due to "Suspicious Package"

It was "everybody out" at around 7:40 this morning at LAX's Terminal One, which houses Southwest Airlines and USAirways, as officials were called out to investigate a suspicious package. In the end, the parcel was assessed to be of no threat, so hundreds of passengers went through security a second time to re-enter the terminal and traffic on the ramps remained a mess for the next hour or so. A reported bombin Terminal 2 was a false alarm in March, and just days before that a toy grenade had Terminal One in a panic. Terminal 4 went on lockdown on July 22 thanks to another "suspicious package." Oh, those friendly skies...
