LAst Night's Action: Trojans Run Wild over Wildcats

USC Trojans defeat Arizona Wildcats 24-21. The Trojans 205 yards on the ground coupled with their two fumble recoveries helped them beat No. 18 Arizona Wildcats, their first victory over a ranked team this season.

The Trojans defense didn’t start the game on the right foot allowing the Wildcats to drive down to their 17-yard line, but they were bailed out when Alex Zendejas missed the 34-yard field goal. The Trojans then drove down the field accented by Marc Tyler’s 23-yard run to get them to mid-field. Quarterback Matt Barkley called his own number at second-and-goal at the one-yard line drawing first blood for the Trojans.

The Wildcats responded with quarterback Nick Foles getting sacked by Shareece Wright and coughing the ball up giving the Trojans the ball on Arizona’s 22-yard line. Three plays later Barkley completed a seven-yard pass to Rhett Ellison to give the Trojans the 14-0 lead.

Thanks to Tyler’s 160 yards on 31 carries, the Trojans held on to the ball for 37 minutes, 27 seconds. Barkley went 21-for-35 for 170 yards with a touchdown and an interception
