A man's body was found in the Los Angeles River in Lincoln Heights early Wednesday morning.

LAPD Officer Rosario Herrera told LAist that police first received the call at around 2:40 a.m. Wednesday morning, and that the situation was not being investigated as a homicide. "It's currently a death investigation," Herrera said.

The body was found in the river near the intersection of Avenue 19 and Figueroa
Street. Authorities did not have further information on the cause of death or condition of the body.
