Slow and steady wins the race, as evidenced by tonight's awesome events. LAist is torn between them; if only someone would invent teleportation, it would be an easy choice.

At the Silverlake Lounge, see indie-prog virtuosos Crime in Choir, featuring members of At the Drive-In and Hella, with Snake vs Wizard and Create!. Tickets are $7.00.

Farther west at the Santa Monica Pier, show up around 7:30 PM for the 2004 Twilight Dance Series. Tonight features dynamic duo Gift of Gab and Chief Xcel of Blackalicious on stage, along with Benny Cassette. Admission is free.
