The son of a former Real Housewives of Orange County star was arrested for allegedly shooting a man in Costa Mesa. Joshua Waring, 27, of San Juan Capistrano is the son of former Real Housewives of Orange County star Lauri Peterson. Police say that Waring shot a man at a home in the 2900 block of Babb Street on Monday around 2:30 a.m., the Orange County Register reports . The unidentified, 35-year-old man had been hit once in the abdomen, and will likely survive. Costa Mesa police Lt. Paul Beckman told the L.A. Times that the men had gotten into some kind of argument, but they weren't sure what it was over.

Waring allegedly left the scene of the shooting in a 2011 BMW X3 SUV, which authorities say he stole. At about 10:30 a.m., an Orange County Sheriff's Department helicopter spotted the car and a chase ensued. Waring got into a crash at 4th and Terminal streets in Santa Ana, inspiring him to ditch the car and evade capture on foot. He attempted to hide out at a warehouse, but soon surrendered to police.

He has since been charged with attempted murder, vehicle theft, felony evading police and hit-and-run.

This is not Waring's first run-in with the law. He pleaded guilty to multiple drug-related charges in 2008, battery in 2009, and more drug charges in 2009 and 2015, according to the Times.

Lauri Peterson was one of the original cast members of the reality show. She was then known as Lauri Waring and was divorced with three children: Joshua, Ashley and Sophie. During that first season, Joshua was sent to juvenile hall for drugs. Peterson eventually married real estate developer George Peterson, but quit the show in season four, saying she needed to focus on her family after her son was found to have a heroin addiction.
