Do you have an office culture where Friday is just as strict as Monday? One city employee (who shall remain nameless, as will their department) has found a cure to look like you're working... but not really:

Free 411 for Everybody
Sometimes you may find yourself wandering the streets of Burbank lost with your significant other on a Friday night as he or she incessantly nags you to just call 411. Your significant other continuously whines about how you're too macho to ask for directions, but the truth is you're too cheap to pay 75 cents and call 411. Check out 1-888-FREE411. Yes, it's free, and yes, it's 411. You'll never get lost in Burbank again or ever have a reason to argue with your significant other...right?

Youtube is Popular and Stupid
Youtube...what a great idea. It gives every 16-year-old with a webcam the ability to capture their thoughtful opinions and share them with the world. It's true, there's a chance that Trevor won't ask Stacy to the prom because she's only a freshman. But what good does that do for me, a 22-year-old who wants to find videos of guys being bitten by snakes and falling off of skateboards?! An open video forum ... sadly, is only as good as the myspace drones that flood it with their miserable lives that aspire to live up to the level of drama on Laguna Beach. BUT, luckily there is www.dumpalink.com, a site where only the best and most interesting on Youtube is directly linked. Now you can find all the essential videos you want, including skateboard mishaps of course. Don't try to access it from work though because it doesn't work.

Laptop Batteries Explode
First it was Sony, then it was Dell, and now it's Apple. If you're travelling this labor day weekend with your laptop, just be aware that some airlines (i.e. Qantas) now do not permit the use of them connected to a battery. But you're more than welcome to use your laptop in business or first class where A/C outlets are available!
