Homeland Security Advice: Update Your Windows PRONTO
We here at LAist love you. That's why we eat and write about it, thats why we rock and write about it, that's why we read the paper for you, that's why we kiss the girls for you.
But probably the best tip we have for you today comes to us from the Department of Homeland Security, who says there's an evil lurking out there in the shadows...no, not Muslim extremists -- worse -- an Internet worm determined to strike within your sweet laptop or desktop.
If you are like the majority of computer users and have a Windows-based machine, you can either download the security patch, or do as we did, and take the easy way out:
Click your Start Menu > click All Programs > and at the very top of the list you will see Windows Update -- it never hurts to do an update, which will give you a thorough once-over of updates and patches you may need.
It took us about 4 minutes max. But make sure to Restart after you've installed the update so that they can begin working.
