Hollywood Welcomes a Bit of N'Awlins With Five0Four

Today, put a dollar value on the trustworthy reporting you rely on all year long. The local news you read here every day is crafted for you, but right now, we need your help to keep it going. In these uncertain times, your support is even more important. We can't hold those in power accountable and uplift voices from the community without your partnership. Thank you.

The Big Easy settles in for a drink and a bite on Hollywood Boulevard today with the debut of Five0Four--as in 5-0-4, the area code for New Orleans, or, as the bartender will say with a wink, "That's N'Awlins..."

They'll also shake up for you some serious cocktails inspired by the revelry of Bourbon Street, like the potentially destructive Melon Grenade, Hurricane, or Cyclone, or more refined selections like the New Orleans Fizz, Sazerac, or Mint Julep. For the party-hearty types, machines churning booze-infused frozen daiquiris are at the ready to chill you out (the Arnold Palmer is our pick). An extensive menu covers everything from beignets to jambalaya.

A preview party last night brought out the spirit of "laissez les bon temps rouler" complete with an almost daunting set of Hollywood Boulevard's beloved/feared costumed characters among the invited guests scraping red beans and rice from styrofoam bowls and slurping down miniature frozen daiquiris to usher in the new bar.

Five0Four will be open 7 days a week, 11 a.m. to 4 a.m.
