Hollywood Wax Museum Auction: Would You Buy Jesus or Mr. T?

Hollywood auction house Profiles in History is running two separate auctions today and tomorrow, but both have some killer and, well, out there stuff.

Tomorrow, the Hollywood Wax Museum is jettisoning ("retiring" is how they say it) a large group of of their figures (a partial list below). It's partly due to new technology affording them to make more realistic doppelgängers of celebrities, but also because they beginning to just focus on Hollywood and not sports or history.

Separate, but also running today and tomorrow is a large assortment of memorabilia from collections of Tim Burton, Forrest J Ackerman's estate--the LA Times digs this collection--and Stan Winston's Studio are being auctioned off. Included in the above photo gallery on row two are some crazy items such as the blaster left from Blade Runner (apparently, it still works) and an original Bram Stoker's Dracula book (signed, too!).

If you're in the spending mood, bid in either auction here.
