Minivan Completely Wrapped Around Light Pole In Fatal Car Crash
One person is dead after a car crash in Hawthorne, leaving a minivan completely wrapped around a traffic light pole.
The crash occurred at the intersections of 135th Street and Hawthorne Boulevard around 10 a.m. Thursday morning. Los Angeles County Fire Department Inspector Chris Reade told KTLA that one person was found dead in the wreckage when first responders arrived.
The crash appeared to be so intense that the traffic light pole seems to be coming out from the middle of the minivan. Firefighters say there was evidence of a fire that had already gone out. For now it is unclear if another car was involved.
The individual found dead has yet to be identified by authorities, and Hawthorne Police tweeted that the street would be shut down through at least part of the afternoon to clear the wreckage.
For the next 5 hours -Both directions of Hawthorne blvd from Rosecrans to El Segundo blvd will be closed due to a car accident fatality.
