Have Yourself A Hairless Little Christmas: Waxing Meets Shopping At Stark

Before you read more...
Dear reader, we're asking you to help us keep local news available for all. Your financial support keeps our stories free to read, instead of hidden behind paywalls. We believe when reliable local reporting is widely available, the entire community benefits. Thank you for investing in your neighborhood.

Walk by this clean, bright space on Sunset Blvd. in Silver Lake and you'll probably think its a gift shop. Partially true. However STARK is one of LA's premiere houses of hairlessness featuring a nearly-ouchless hard blue wax called Cirepil that starts its life as little beads and melts down to take it all off.

The Silver Lake location (there's also a West Hollywood outpost) has a rotation of 12 pro estheticians, like fan favorites Jill and Lydia, who beautify without the beast of unnecessary pain removing hair from nostrils to nether regions.

Make sure to give yourself a minute to walk it off and spend that time getting some holiday shopping out of the way. An artful collection of body products, hand made jewelry, unique books, toy robots and art pieces line the lobby and hallway, and soon the bag you'll take home.
