Hollywood Walk of Fame's 50th Anniversary
To celebrate the iconic Walk of Fame's 50th anniversary, an all-day festival is taking place in Hollywood, inside some of the famous buildings that have been a part of the area's rich entertainment history. Performances, tours, screenings, family activities and more. Read more about it here. 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Free unless otherwise noted.

At LACMA: 2 Openings & a Free Concert
Some stuff of note at LACMA today. Two shows are opening to the public today: "Manly Pursuits: The Sporting Images of Thomas Eakins" and "Catherine Opie: Figure and Landscape." Then tonight at 6 p.m. in the Bing Theatre it's an Homage to Schumann: iPalpiti artists perform Piano Quintet in E-flat major, Opus 44.

Sunset & Moonrise Viewing @Upper Las Virgenes Canyon
Tonight at the Upper Las Virgenes Canyon Open Space Preserve in Calabasas you can see what they're calling a "Double Delight," as you watch the sunset and moonrise. They explain: "The sun and the moon are visually the same size in our sky but are very different in so many ways. Join our Volunteer Astronomer Pat for this special evening of double delights and investigate what makes each of these amazing celestial wonders unique. " 8 PM, free + $3 parking. Meet at the Victory Blvd. entrance trailhead. 2 hours, moderate ½-mile hike.

One Colorado Summer Block Party
Pasdena's One Colorado merchants will step into the courtyard today from 11am to 5pm for a festive courtyard sale and summer block party. In addition to special savings from some of Old Pasadena’s favorite stores and restaurants, shoppers will be treated to free photo-booth keepsakes, live DJ performance, a courtyard lounge and a Kids’ Corner with face-painting and balloon art. Free, open to the public.
