This afternooon, The Guardian reports that "oil surged to a record high over $112 a barrel on Wednesday after a government report showed a sharp drop in U.S. inventories ahead of the summer driving season." has a chart and if you take a look at this link you might go "whoa." The average Los Angeles gas prices up almost 25% since February 2nd.

It was just yesterday that the price of a barrel of oil was predicted to be at $101.00. Then as of this morning, oil prices were poised to break through $110/barrel today. Well, it certainly did.

If you haven't tried your options (bike, Metro, etc), now may be a good time to practice. Heck, maybe you'll realize it's a pleasant experience and do it more often no matter where gas prices are. Take it from Fred Camino of MetroRiderLA who says "you haven't really lived in LA until you've lived here without a car. I swear I would not have stayed here had I not gone car-free... driving here simply sucks sucks and sucks. Living here without a car reveals to you LA the city, as opposed to LA the place between here and my destination."
