Fundraising & In Support Of Military Families, Michelle Obama Visits Los Angeles

Michelle Obama visits L.A. on Monday to to raise money for her husband's reelection campaign and to "boost support for military families," starting with a guilds-hosted, J.J. Abrams-moderated discussion in Beverly Hills about "how Hollywood can tell stories of today's military families through film and television," says the White House, according to the L.A. Times.

The first lady is also scheduled to appear as a guest star on Nickelodeon's "iCarly," a series "whose lead character is the daughter of a military officer serving oversees, and will also be attending two fundraising events during her time in Los Angeles.

Obama's California adventure is among her first "solo fundraising trips" since the president announced his bid for reelection in April.
