Southern California has a long and troubled history when it comes to policing. I explore a continuing disconnect between law enforcement officers and the communities they serve, look at when reforms have worked and where and why tensions remain. I'm always examining whether justice is being served.

I've won numerous awards since covering the Rodney King riots as a cub reporter, including a Distinguished Journalist Award from the Society of Professional Journalists and two Radio Journalist of the Year Awards from the L.A. Press Club. The people fighting for justice in L.A. have always been my inspiration -- whether they're in a squad car, at the courthouse, in the classroom or on the streets.
