A former crewmember for Deadliest Catch was shot and killed just in front of his home in a quiet Pasadena neighborhood overnight.Los Angeles County Sheriff's deputies were called to the 3600 block of Yorkshire Road around 2:20 a.m., Friday morning, after a call was made saying shots were fired. Deputies arrived to the neighborhood known as Chapman Woods, and found the 25-year old victim was found lying in the street, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. According to ABC 7, he was found in front of the driveway of the house just next to his.

He was pronounced dead at the scene and later identified by CBS 2 as Joe McMahon, a former associate producer on the TV show Deadliest Catch. McMahon's family members said he heard a noise outside and went to investigate it just before he was shot.

Witnesses say seven shots were fired before a small, compact car drove off. Investigators are unsure whether the car that sped off was the shooter's or just bystanders fleeing the scene—they also do not believe it was gang related or involved drugs.

Anyone with information about the shooting is being asked to call Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department at (323) 890-5500.
