Douchey California Diners Leave Anti-Tax Rant For Waiter (Again?)

Yesterday we had few details about a note allegedly left by a wealthy diner in lieu of a tip (pictured above). We were skeptical given how little information we had about who found the note or where it was found. We reached out to the original poster on Reddit but never heard back.

Today we have something a little more solid to report: the San Francisco Chronicle reported that an anti-tax rant was left at Cupola, a pizzeria in the city.

The corporate chef for the restaurant group Adrian Hoffman happened to be dining there when a waiter came over and showed him the card. The waiter told him a couple left a $3 tip on a $37 bill, along with the card. He told the Chronicle, "We get lots of little cards full of allergies of what customers can't eat but I've never seen this."

The card from Reddit and the card on the Chronicle's blog are identical, but they were clearly taken on different tables. So we're not sure if this is the same instance, the same couple striking again or a terrible new trend for the livelihoods of waiters.
