On Saturday, join KCRW Good Food host and Angeli Caffe owner Evan Kleiman and Master Food Preserver Delilah Snell for a pie-making workshop. The course starts with a mouth-watering tutorial on the perfect pie crust, then a hands-on canning session of summer stone-fruits pie filling. Students will learn the art of home-food preservation and take home their own pie filling. Recipes and samples will be included. $100 per person; Register via email.

Make Your Own Jam
Sunday is another chance to learn how to turn the ripe fruit of summer into tastes to savor later. As part of their EATLACMA exhibit and ongoing series of events, the museum is hosting a Public Fruit Jam. Attendees can "bring homegrown or street-picked fruit and participate in a collective jam making session. Participants work together without recipes to come up with unique flavors that reflect the collaborative nature of this public performance." At the end of the lesson, you can take home your own jar of jam. Free, space is limited. Tickets will be handed out the day of the event with a limit of 150 per hour from 12 noon to 3 pm. Tickets are on a first-come, first-served basis; no reservations.
