The 4th annual international food bloggers holiday fundraiser, Menu For Hope, kicks off its twelve day run Monday. The virtual event is hosted by Pim Techamuanvivit, who runs the food blog Chez Pim and whose desire to help out those devastated by the tsunami five years ago in Southeast Asia led her to devise Menu For Hope. Last year US$62,925.12 was raised through the event, and was donated to the UN World Food Programme. Here's how it works:

For two weeks every December, food bloggers from all over the world join the campaign by offering a delectable array of food-related prizes for the Menu for Hope raffle. Anyone – and that means you too - can buy raffle tickets to bid on these prizes. For every $10 donated, you earn one virtual raffle ticket to bid on a prize of their choice. At the end of the two-week campaign, the raffle tickets are drawn and the results announced on Chez Pim.

The donations are handled through the website Firstgiving, and this year's recipient is once again the UN World Food Programme. Check out Chez Pim starting Monday December 10 to see the prizes, or go directly to Firstgiving's Menu For Hope 4 page to donate. If you're a local food blogger who'd like to put up a prize, hurry--today is the deadline to sign up! To find out how to do so, visit the US West Coast coordinator, Rasa Malaysia.
