Since there's pretty much a Starbucks on every corner in the greater LA area, it shouldn't be too hard to find one today. However, the line of java junkies might be a little longer; we heard last night over at LA.foodblogging that the mecca of corporate coffee is having their first annual Ice Cream Social. In order to raise awareness of (interest in?) their Java Chip Ice Cream, your favorite baristas in the green aprons will be giving away free 4 oz. samples of the cold, creamy stuff. It may take an extra shot of espresso in your system to deal with the scene; we've seen those free samples of Frappucinos go flying off the tray before the whipped cream has a chance to land in a peak. Naturally, supplies are limited, but if you're craving caffeinated ice cream, chances are you'll pass the 'bucks. Go on in and get your free licks! Can't beat the price!
