Populist, democratic socialist, and presidential hopeful Bernie Sanders is swinging through the Southland and—just like many of his constituents—seems to prefer getting his coffee from a third-wave spot instead of just settling for Starbucks. If Sanders isn't going to accept corporate campaign contributions, he won't be accepting corporate coffee either!

Sanders was spotted in Glassell Park by Instagrammer @n_katzman outside of Habitat Coffee, who confirmed to Eater that Sanders and his staff did in fact drop in for a brew.

The Vermont senator presumably took off from Habitat to his rally at Lincoln Park on Monday morning, where he was introduced by Rosario Dawson, according to KTLA. Later that evening, he was in Santa Monica for a rally at Santa Monica High School.

On Tuesday, Sanders will be swinging through Orange County and the Inland Empire with appearances in San Bernardino, Riverside, and Anaheim. On Thursday he'll be in the Coachella Valley at Cathedral City, and will also appear on Jimmy Kimmel Live.

The California primary will take place on June 7.
