FLOTUS Lends Support to Boxer at L.A. Fundraiser Event
As part of a pre-Midterm Election week tour of West Coast cities, First Lady Michelle Obama spent some time in Los Angeles yesterday to speak at a small fundraiser event for incumbent Democratic Senator Barbara Boxer.
Obama gave the event what the LA Times calls "her considerable star power," and spoke about Boxer's dedication to Californian families, jobs, and small businesses.
For her turn at the podium, Boxer gave a restrained speech, noting that her opponent, Republican Carly Fiorina, was in the hospital being treated for an infection stemming from her recent breast cancer reconstructive surgery. Polls reported over the weekend show Boxer is leading Fiorina, 50% to 42%.
