Fall Out Boy "Saturday" @ Key Club 8/16
Under no circumstances should you assume that LAist are Fall Out Boy fans. However, they aren't as annoying as they could be, so we tolerate them. Which is saying something because we don't tolerate a lot.
Last week they played a secret show at the Snakes on a Plane soundtrack party at the Key Club. A lot of the bands were there who were on the soundtrack, and not that we dare define what emo is, but if it exists there is a good chance that some of it was there.
LAist are historians at heart, and the decadence and abuse that has exhibited itself in the club that is now known as the Key Club, after once being named Billboard Live, and most famously Gazzarri's, clearly contrasted with the sugary-sweet anthems of Fall Out Boy from within what must have been the moistest pit on Sunset Blvd. This is too trippy to ignore. Here, your Midnight Movie.
