Normally LAist doesn't give our readers much warning in terms of upcoming events, because most day-to-day events don't require much advance notice to get in. But in fairness to all of you (and your schedules), an effort will be made from now on to give as much advance notice as possible for special events.

That said, LA's own indie pop sensations Rilo Kiley will be giving a special acoustic in-store performance on Wednesday, August 18 at Fingerprints in Long Beach. The show celebrates the release of the band's newest album, More Adventurous, which will be released on Brute/Beaute Records August 17.

"In order to get a wristband to the event, fans must pre-order a copy of the new album at Fingerprints. The event will have a very limited capacity, and the wristbands will be first-come, first-served. The pre-sale starts 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 7."

The band's last Los Angeles show at the John Anson Ford Amphitheater sold out in just ten minutes, so it is highly recommended that those interested in attending get orders in right away—the show will likely fill up fast.
