Extra, Extra: Jesus goes to an L.A. Dance Club

- Too many train crashes! Today saw the second Gold Line crash this month, this one being the worse of the two. The Blue Line was involved in a crash earlier this week as well as a Metrolink train yesterday.
- Tennie Pierce, the city firefighter who claims co-workers fed him dog food-laced spaghetti settled with city council today for $1.43 million dollars.
- Will it be a cozy night indoors as it rains outside? Yep. Pretty much. Enjoy the change of weather!
- Want a good eco-challenge? Pledge to carry around your trash for two weeks. That's what Pasadena local Tess Vigeland is doing for American Public Radio.
- George Clooney and his girlfriend Sarah Lawson were in a motorcycle accident today. Calm down, injuries are minor. In other celebrity car collision news, Britney Spears was charged with two misdemeanor counts today over an August 6 incident in Studio City.
- "A California pastor has found a way to take his sermons to young people in Los Angeles without waiting for them to come to him... He's set up a church inside an L.A. nightclub."
- Audit first, tax last. City Controller Laura Chick is not too savvy over putting a proposed tax on the February ballot to fund gang programs at $30 per household before an audit is completed on current gang programs.
- Don't have a cow man! "Long thought to be purebred, the wild bison of Santa Catalina Island in fact have a little bit of cow in them, the first DNA analysis of the animals found."
