• Los Angeles Fire Department + Boy Scouts of America does not equal a good partnership. If the department's youth Explorer program is found to be tied to the Scouts, the program will have to be replaced. Why? The Boy Scouts condemn homosexuality and that doesn't bode well with city policy.
• Because the city is in the biggest funding shortfall ever, some services and laws are just not going to happen. Example: today's proposal to pass an ordinance allowing only one rooster per household in Los Angeles did not go through. The Animal Services Department just doesn't have the funding and man power to enforce such a cockamanny plan.
• To raise money for the upcoming AIDS LifeCycle ride, a team of bicyclists called Midnight Ridazz are hosting a cycle-focused photography exhibition at The Bike Oven on Saturday night.
• Development from South Park to South LA: “The idea is to link together South Park and downtown’s residential areas and USC and South LA with this retail corridor," Curbed LA reports.
• First Disney, now the Santa Ana Plaza Hotel. A man allegedly jumped to his death from the 7th floor today.
• A good question by Angelenic: "Why does Downtown, a blossoming center for art, food and culture currently lack the wine experience? Is anyone else thirsty for this particular scene to arrive?"
