  • Hey, lady, you're going the wrong....Uh oh. A woman driving eastbound in the westbound carpool lane of the 118 near Simi Valley around 1:30 this afternoon collided with a motorcyclist. The bike rider was sent to the hospital to be treated for his injuries, but the elderly driver of the wrong-way car was unhurt.
  • See kids, learning is fun! A 5th grade class at McKinley School have made a model of their home city of Pasadena out of Legos, complete with the Rose Bowl, Huntington Hospital, and City Hall. No word on whether any USC Trojans were included playing football at the Rose Bowl.
  • Snorefest Celeb News '07: Valerie Bertinelli and Eddie Van Halen have finalized their divorce. The split was reportedly amicable--what, she didn't hurl any of those frozen Jenny Craig entrees at him? Damn. Custody details about their 16 year old son Wolfgang were not released.
  • Today is Getaway Day. No, not "GET AWAY FROM ME, YOU CREEP!" but today is the day when over 5 million Southern Californians are taking to the roads and the skies for the holidays. Local weather isn't expected to be a problem for those flying out of LA's many area airports over the next few days, but things like the high price of gas and crowds as far as the eye can see are to be expected.
  • A 12-year-old girl from Alta Loma Junior High in Rancho Cucamonga was suspended for having vodka-filled candy a friend gave her in the hall on Wednesday. Hey kid, wanna trade lunches?
  • Woof, there he is: A parolee who fled after allegedly attacking an LAPD officer was caught by a K9 unit in a tunnel today, which caused major traffic headaches for the 101 around Woodman.
  • Pave paradise, put up a parking lot: A 25 year old Community Garden on the campus of Golden West College in Huntington Beach is going to be shut down in order to put in more parking and storage. Man, that makes my green thumb blue.
