Where To Celebrate St. Patrick's Day In Southern California
Get your best green sweater or shamrock pin ready: it's St. Patrick's Day parade season! Here's a guide to some of the notable parades and celebrations around Southern California.
SATURDAY, MARCH 12
County Ventura St. Patrick's Day Parade
10 a.m. Parade kick off on East Main Street in front of the San Buenaventura Mission, continuing up East Main Street and finishing at the corner of North Ann Street and East Main Street.
San Diego St. Patrick's Day Parade
Downtown San Diego
10:30 a.m. Parade starts on Fifth from Laurel to Upas, then back down Sixth Avenue to Laurel. There's also an Irish Festival, opening at 9 a.m. and ending at 6 p.m.
Hermosa Beach St. Patrick's Day Parade
Downtown Hermosa Beach
11 a.m. Parade step off at Valley and Pier Avenue; the parade then proceeds west down Pier to Hermosa Avenue and then south on Hermosa where it disbands at Eighth Street.
Long Beach Irish Heritage Parade
Downtown Long Beach
2 p.m. Parade begins on Pine Avenue at 6th Street and travels down Pine to Broadway, turning right to Promenade Park; a festival follows in the park at 3 p.m.
THURSDAY, MARCH 17
Pershing Square St. Patrick's Day Celebration
532 Olive Street, Los Angeles
11 a.m. Festivities begin, with music starting at 12 p.m. There will be dancing, food trucks, beer and more.
