It's 2013, and stage mothers and fathers no longer have to pin their hopes and dreams of stardom on their poor children. Now the family cat can become the family cash cow—because, hey, at least felines submitted to the rigors of stardom won't develop a drug habit or spend the rest of their lives lamenting their lost kittenhood. We came across a job unpaid internship posting this week on Craigslist helping to promote such a "celeb cat" named Mr. Panther Pants. But like many of the humans in Los Angeles calling themselves "celebs," "stars" or even "actors," we're going to have to add the word "aspiring" to that label.

So far Mr. Panther Pants has a respectable but not quite celebrity-status 384 Facebook friends, 682 Twitter followers and 42 Instagram followers. But Jill of Marina Del Rey has big plans for her feline: "Mr. Panther Pants is the Perez Hilton of Cats. He's caddy and sassy and completely snarky. He always has an opinion where other cat or dog fashion is concerned. He has his own style. We'll be creating a voice for him."

Here's the full post for the "INSTAGRAM MGR. AND SOCIAL MEDIA MARKETING INTERN FOR CAT TALENT" preserved for posterity:

This cat is looking for a recent college graduate or student who is highly creative, outgoing and enthusiastic about social media and marketing to fulfill an internship for 1 day per week this summer. Must have interest in cats, social media and a desire to learn about what it takes to build a brand from the ground up. Love for cats and a sense of humor is also appreciated. My name is Jill and we'll be working together to build a brand for Mr. Panther Pants through social media marketing.

Mr. Panther Pants is the Perez Hilton of Cats. He's caddy and sassy and completely snarky. He always has an opinion where other cat or dog fashion is concerned. He has his own style. We'll be creating a voice for him.
