The People’s Choice Awards, held tonight at the Nokia Theatre at L.A. Live in Downtown Los Angeles, is a straight-up popularity contest and isn’t afraid to say so (unlike some of the other awards coming up). It’s the only show in which the winners are voted on entirely by the public for performers in movies, music and television. Fans get a say to honor faves who sometimes get overlooked. And sometimes the choices are just downright interesting.

We’ve posted all the winners below (sorry tape-delayed West Coast, but all is fair in the age of Twitter), a photo gallery of candid shots from our station at the very very end of the red carpet, and a short video from Stana Katic of Castle, who won Favorite Crime Drama TV Actress, and was also gracious enough to stop, chat and send a message to her fans. Castle cleaned up this year, also winning Favorite TV Crime Drama and Favorite Crime Drama TV Actor for Nathan Fillion.

Other multiple winners included Jennifer Lawrence for Favorite Movie Actress and Favorite Action Movie Actress; Maleficent for Favorite Movie and Favorite Family Movie; Grey’s Anatomy for Favorite Network TV Drama, Favorite Dramatic TV Actor (Patrick Dempsey) and Favorite Dramatic TV Actress (Ellen Pompeo). The Big Bang Theory keeps on picking up awards with wins as Favorite TV Show and Favorite Network TV Comedy and Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting as Favorite Comedic TV Actress.
