Videos: Young Angelina Jolie Can't Stay In Character In Acting Class
Just because your dad is an Oscar winner doesn't mean acting comes naturally.Videos recently unearthed by The Daily Mail show Angelina Jolie doing a scene in her acting class and taking a few pointers from her teacher. The Daily Mail says she's 25 in the clips, though to our eyes she looks much, much younger.
Jolie's acting career started when she was only 7, when she acted opposite her father Jon Voight in Lookin' To Get Out. She later took classes at the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute when she was 11. By her mid-20s Jolie was in the midst of her breakout, having just won the Oscar for Girl, Interrupted before she even turned 25.
Amusingly, the eventual Oscar-winner has a hard time staying in character during the intense scene in one of the videos below. Her unknown acting partner is able to withstand the giggles.
Despite cracking up, her teacher was very complimentary. "I felt for you a real sense of style. You didn't allow it to just keep going there, you changed it lots of times," she said. "You found the humor and you found that and you took the scene in different directions."
You can see Angie put the skills she learned in class to use later this year in By The Sea, opposite her hubby Brad Pitt.
