Video: Watch Odd Future "Burn Shit" On Fairfax Avenue

It looks like the local hip hop group Odd Future overdid it during a promotion for a song whose lyrics include the phrase "Kill People Burn Shit Fuck School."

A video shows the aftermath of what was apparently a bottle-rocket stunt gone awry in front of their pop-up store on Fairfax Avenue. A palm tree is set ablaze. Blazing fronds fall onto the awning of a restaurant below, causing it to catch on fire, too. A crowd below flips out, shouting "Oh fuck, oh fuck, oh fuck!" "Why the fuck?" "What the fuck?" and "Oh my fucking God!"

A passer-by caught the whole thing while he was stopped at a red light while "Take On Me" plays on the radio. (The whole scene is even more eerie than the music video for the song.)

The palm blaze happened earlier this month, and Gawker reports that Odd Future promised to take care of the bill for the damage at Damiano Mr. Pizza.
