Joe Jonas Declines Invite To Pepperdine Formal With A Slightly Creepy Video
The trend of students asking big-shot celebrities to prom might be getting a little out of hand. You don't have to have any special reason to be asking—just the cojones, a YouTube account and that special je ne sais quoi that makes a video viral.
Kate Upton has been asked out, so have Taylor Swift and Justin Beiber. Recently, a senior at Pepperdine named Shaina made such a video aimed at getting Joe Jonas to get her to go to college formal:
Jonas responded with his own video. It's a little bit creepy and a little bit goofy, and that might be the absolutely perfect response to this slightly creepy, goofy genre of asking celebrities out on the internet. Jonas sips wine, lounges sexily by the fire and there's a dude writhing around and playing a saxophone:
Jonas rejects her proposal, but manages to not come off totally heartless—a huge pitfall of this sort of proposal—by asking her to come out to the opening of the Jonas brothers tour in Chicago. Jonas also showed up incognito to meet her in person when she got flown out to appear on the TODAY show.
