Fewer things are simultaneously joyous and terrifying like the arrival of a child. Are we ready? Will we screw it up? Oh god, it's coming from inside of me.

Judy and Gavin Holt of San Dimas nailed it in their video announcing their first child, a finely crafted faux-horror trailer appropriately scored with John Carpenter's music. "I wanted to do something a little different, instead of just a sonogram picture," Judy told KTLA. Since the couple were both "horror movie nuts," as Gavin says, the video was simply a natural outgrowth of that passion.

And yeah, it's a pretty spiffy looking video. It should be, since they're both professional wedding photographers. They have both have to have a sharp eye, after all.

Down the road, how do they think their child will feel about being immortalized by his or her parents on YouTube as a demon-parasite growing inside his or her own mother? "I think everyone thinks their parents are weird," says Gavin, "and we've gotten off to a good start."

I don't know, they seem like pretty cool parents so far.
