It was great to get some late night TV back yesterday, one wonders when the networks will run out of Olympians to showcase - Conan was particularly biting regarding the parade of Olympians and the relative importance they are playing on TV as of late.

Tonight marks the debut of another show on BBC America, "Gavin & Stacey". It's a realistic comedy from the BBC but it's no "East Enders". The show starts out a little stiff but does loosen up a bit by the end of the second episode - in particular the music is crackin', which isn't reason enough to watch any program but it helps. "Gavin & Stacey" might shape up into something really good and it's your best bet for the 8-9pm slot on Tuesdays as of right now. If it's a misfire, that's ok, because at least they're making an effort. Between this and "Skins" (Sundays @ 9:00pm), a selection of sci fi shows, and a series of documentaries starting next week, it's obvious that BBC America does have some truth behind their latest tagline, "The fastest growing network in America".
