So The Colber(t) Repor(t) and The Daily Show are back and while Colbert, Stewart, Kimmel, and Conan are all nimble on their feet, and very funny and engaging, it's amazing how the success of all these shows really comes down to the writing. It's great to have them all back on the air and it does provide us all with some late night alternatives, but I hope NBC, ABC, and Viacom come to their senses and end this. The ball is in their court.

5:00pm-???? Pink Panther Marathon TCM - I don't know why they're not showing A Shot In the Dark but they're showing alllll the other classic Pink Panthers. It's great to know that when you're fed up with the other channels that you can flip back to TCM for a slow motion fight between the Inspector and Cato.

8:00pm Just for Laughs ABC - Season Premiere. ABC continues to rape the long-dead corpse of Allen Funt. Following this are new episodes of According to Jim, Carpoolers, and Boston Legal.

9:00pm The 34th Annual People's Choice Awards CBS - Special. Poll-determined winners in Music, TV, and Movies. "34th Annual"?? Somehow I missed the previous thirty years of this thing.

9:30pm Frontline: The Medicated Child PBS/KCET - The big surprise here I guess is that drugged up kids end up permanently affected by medications prescribed to them by doctors who refer to studies funded by, gosh-a-golly, pharmaceutical companies. I remember the '70s when everybody's parents were determined to put us all on Ritalin. Thankfully, most of our doctors said "no" and we were allowed to continue being pyromaniac anti-social punks who would occasionally go streaking wearing Richard Nixon masks. And look at me now, a leader of industry and the media. TV Junkie 9:00pm Pick.

10:00pm Parking Wars A&E - Series Premiere. Philadelphia's meter maids get their own show. Hey, I heard it on NPR.

10:30pm Rob and Big MTV - Season Premiere. The skateboarder and his big black bodyguard are back.
