TV Junkie: Monday

Everyone is in a tizzy about The Wire coming to a close yesterday - it's one of the few shows that decided to go out while it was on top so kudos to them. The TV Junkie is barely keeping his head above water with the deluge of new shows coming out in the next week, tonight it's Julianna Margulies' return to the little screen with Canterbury's Law (that's a mouthful, say: Julianna Margulies in Canterbury's Law 10x fast). Stay tuned for more shows this week, including the fabulous Lewis Black (right) in Lewis Black's Root of All Evil which premieres on Wednesday at 10:30pm - I hope he does "the finger thing" a lot.
8:00pm Canterbury's Law FOX - Series Premiere.
8:00pm-10:00pm How I Met Your Mother / New Adventures of Old Christine CBS - New episodes of these tonight including a double whammy from NAOC.
9:00pm New Amsterdam FOX - I thought this was crap. Which is a shame because the series pilot was directed by Lasse Hallström who did the wonderful My Life As A Dog back in the '80s
10:00pm Romeo & Juliet TCM - (1968) If you don't want "New Amsterdam" or "Jackassworld" then you could choose culture. This is the version of R&J that I remember being forced to watch in high school.
10:00pm Jackassworld 24 Hour Takeover: The Worst Moments MTV - In case you missed the chance on losing a whole day of your life to Jackass it's been distilled down to this, like coal being compressed into a diamond.
11:00pm Tavis Smiley PBS/KCET - Richard Lewis(??), the comedian??
11:30pm The Late Show With David Letterman CBS - Jim Carrey, Paula Abdul
12:35am Late Night With Conan O'Brien NBC - Paul Giamatti (as John Adams?), Mark "Dr. Bugs" Moffett, Jaymay
