TV Junkie: 'Battlestar Galactica' - Vaya Con Dios
The series finale of "Battlestar Galactica" - tonight @ 9pm on Sci Fi (SyFy?)
Tonight marks the end of "Battlestar Galactica", for about 20 years until the geeks of the future resurrect it like they did the now-campy 1970s version. Some have complained that this final season swung the show onto a science-fiction track that was too science-fiction-y but the show had to return to its roots, its core, before wandering off into the cosmos. As "Battlestar Galactica" has been the Sci Fi Channel's biggest draw, its demise begs the question: what next? One would have to argue that the channel now lamely monickered, SyFy, had better get something decent lined up and soon.
Today marks the launch of a complete half-hour version of Current's animated news-satire program "SuperNews". "SuperNews" was already off to a great start with "Twouble with Twitters", we hope to see a lot more from "SuperNews" and hope to give you an interview or report directly from their studios. "SuperNews" will air every Friday at 10pm on Current.
In the streamy world, “Charlie Murphy’s Crash Comedy” is now live at Crackle.com. We know Charlie Murphy from his work on "Chappelle's Show" and he's been touring with his stand-up act (totally worth checking out). If you’re a Lil Wayne fan, you’ve got to see this first episode.“Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice”.
Other than BSG and tonight's late night TV, the weekend is kind of dead until Sunday's season finale of "Big Love" on HBO, followed by the next gut-wrenching episode of "Breaking Bad" on AMC.
The TV Junkie Plan: Tonight - "Real Time With Bill Maher", "Terminator", "Battlestar Galactica", Leno, Fallon. Saturday - "Ashes to Ashes". Sunday - "Big Love", "Breaking Bad"
