TV Junkie: Ad Spending Down - Cable Doing Well; Zucker Defends Cramer
Ad spending in the US dropped by 2.6% in 2008, with only cable increasing ad revenue for the year. TV and cable still retained a leadership position as the preferred media, taking more than 60% of all ad dollars.NBC Universal head honcho, Jeff Zucker, defended Jim Cramer, CNBC, and business reporting in general after last week's lambasting by "The Daily Show"'s Jon Stewart. Despite the avalanche of video evidence presented by Stewart last week, Zucker posited that Cramer's calls were on target and "out in front". Hey Jeff, perhaps CNBC should put up a big "Mission Accomplished" banner because they done so darn good.
Even though ABC didn't send us screeners, we've read enough about "Better Off Ted" to check it out tonight @ 8pm - hope it lives up to the hype.
