Was very happy to get an expectedly excellent "Bored To Death" premiere (HBO) last night, a great beginning to what should be an excellent season of this very funny show. Did any of you readers watch the series premiere of Laura Dern's "Enlightened"? What did you think? Tonight's big offering will be "Sons of Anarchy" which should be making some emphatic statements after last week's subdued but necessary transitional episode - I say #SOA will kick butt tonight, it always kicks butt, but tonight it will shift up a couple gears.

Also check out late night TV which will have Will Arnett getting into some shenanigans with Conan as well as Steven Wright making yet another appearance on Craig Ferguson's show. Speaking of Conan, I wanted to point you to the most recent "Pardo Patrol" (above) where Jimmy Pardo meets up with, and harasses, Chris Pratt of NBC's "Parks and Recreation." Also, it's kind of a big deal that Conan will be returning to New York City during the first week of November, reconquering the town where he made it big - I've included a funny promo he did at the end of this post which includes an appearance by former New York resident (now fervent LA resident) Eddie Pepitone.

Podcast Round-Up: We like Mo Mandel, he's a great comic and a regular on "Chelsea Lately," he was also in the short-lived NBC comedy "Free Agents." Listen to Mo Mandel on the Gentlemen's Club podcast which was recorded the day before "Free Agents" was cancelled | If you want to hear the man who books all the comedians on "The Late Show With David Letterman" listen to the FitzdogRadio podcast which has Eddie Brill as guest | I'm always amazed by the different kinds of people who are fans of Dr. Neil deGrassi Tyson, hear him on Maximum Fun's The Sound of Young America podcast | I love Showtime's "The Green Room" so it would be incredibly remiss to not point you to the recent Jordan, Jesse, Go! podcast episode with Paul Provenza.

Congratulations to AMC for incredible ratings on its fourth season finale Sunday night. For the season the show was up 24%. AMC had better engage series creator Vince Gilligan to come up with a new show for 2013 and keep this ball rolling.
