Don't forget to watch the season finale of "Louie" tonight on FX at 10:30pm. "Louie" is a great series because it does not conform to any kind of format or genre. Yes, there were a lot of hilarious moments this season but also plenty of dark, pensive, thoughtful, and real moments. People tuning in to the show with the idea that they would just guffaw at whatever was going to come on the screen were freuqently disappointed - the show has a lot of layers, Louis C.K. is using the medium to showcase a more nuanced kind of comedy and drama than what most people expect when they think they're tuning into a half-hour comedy show.

That being said, tonight's finale will have plenty of big laughs - some of which Louis alluded to when we spoke to him at the premiere early this summer (check out the video above). Will it all be laughs? Probably not but that's what great about the show - is Louis C.K. an angry guy, a sad guy, a bittersweet guy? After being lucky enough to talk with the man a few times this year, I'd have to say he's a real guy with a great sense of humor. I hope to god the Emmys get it right next week and get him an award for this show (again, shame on the Television Critics Association for flubbing the opportunity to do it first), and please FX, renew this "Louie"!

Speaking of renewals, there is now an online petition demanding that Showtime bring "The Green Room With Paul Provenza" back for at least another season. If you like comedy, free speech, and a behind-the-scenes look at showbiz, your support of this show would be helpful. Sign the petition HERE.
