I was pleased to see that I wasn't the only person who took issue with this year's mostly boring and predictable Emmy nominations. Tim Goodman of The Hollywood Reporter took offense, in particular, to Jimmy Kimmel once again getting snubbed by the TV Academy. Kimmel produces a great show, his interviews are a welcome break from the over-rehearsed monotony we now get on both Leno and Letterman, the video segments are unusually fearless and well-written (see above), and because of this consistency I found myself choosing Kimmel over the alternatives more often this season than not. What's a guy got to do? My theory is that there is a generation at the Academy that finally just needs to die off - please do it soon, or just don't renew your membership.

While I pity the poor intern who had to compile this data, it's worth a laugh: The "Friends" characters had 85 sex partners over the 10 season run of the show.

Tonight: You can not only watch tonight's great episode of "Louie" (FX at 10pm), you can also see Louis C.K. on Letterman (with Kirstie Allie? wonder how this will go over). Also, true comedy fans won't miss tonight's "Green Room With Paul Provenza" (Showtime at 8pm and/or 11pm) which will have Dave Attell and Janeane Garofalo among the guests.
