TV Junkie: HBO GO Gets Bigger
"Traffic Light" seems to be the new 'couples' show that works this season, so we'll be watching it on Fox at 9:30pm tonight (new time!)
HBO has announced Cox Communications as a major partner in the launch of its HBO GO service for HBO subscribers which will now begin online streaming of over 1600 titles, including all HBO-produced series, documentaries, and movies that HBO has the rights to. No word on if/when cable services Time-Warner will offer HBO GO and that's what we're waiting for, personally speaking, of course.
We're fans of MaximumFun.org, the LA-based institution that is the purveyor of "The Sound of Young America," "Jordan, Jesse, Go!," and the "Judge John Hodgman" (yes, that John Hodgman!) podcasts and syndicated radio segments. We particularly like the various TV comedians, writers, and performers who appear on their programs and reveal their sense of humor in a very laid-back format. If you haven't listened to any of MaximumFun.org's shows we recommend you give them a listen. If you are a listener, then you should be aware that they havejust begun their 2 week fund drive and could use your support.
Tonight we'll have a new episode of "Modern Family" (ABC @ 9pm) but then we'll be switching over to Fox to catch "Traffic Light" which is on at a new time this week - ABC's "Mr. Sunshine" just isn't doing it for us, despite the great cast. It doesn't mean we'll never go back, we're just taking a break this week. "Justified" (FX @ 10pm) will be the peak of our evening, as we wonder what tortured path Waylon Goggins' Boyd Crowder will take this week. In late night, guests of note will be Chelsea Handler on Conan and Mike Tyson on Jimmy Fallon's show where Motorhead will also perform.
