TV Junkie: 'Doctor Who - A Christmas Carol' Airs Tomorrow
Christmas Weekend Edition
The Oscar winning short film, "The Red Balloon," will air on Sunday at 10:15pm on TCM
Holiday weekends are when most TV networks punt and this weekend is no exception. We have marathons galore: TBS' 24 hours of A Christmas Story, FX's day of Dr. Seuss' Horton Hears a Who!, and various "Dirty Jobs" and "MythBusters" marathons on Discovery among others. Choose your poison, chances are you'll be disappointed and bored soon enough. If you have a hankering to get out and see a movie, be sure to check out our reviews of TRON: Legacy, and True Grit.
Speaking of "who," BBC America will be having a Doctor Who marathon on Saturday culminating in the premiere of "Doctor Who - A Christmas Carol" at 9pm, followed by an all-new "Graham Norton Show" at 10:20pm that will feature the most current Doctor, Matt Smith. Count us in as we're Doctor Who fans from the Tom Baker days of the '70s.
We suggest finishing off Sunday with a commercial-free viewing of The Wizard of Oz on TCM, followed by the incredible short film that you might remember from your preschool days, The Red Balloon. Enjoy your holiday weekend! See you here on Monday.
