National Geographic and YouTube are working together to present "Planet Inspired," an initiative that allows people the opportunity to use their creativity to inspire people to care about the planet and win incredible prizes. Now through November 15, you can incorporate compelling video, images and music from National Geographic's library with your own to create a short film that focus on environmental themes such as Oceans, Endangered Species, Fresh Water, or Exploration. The winner will receive the opportunity to participate in a National Geographic Weekend Photography Workshop in New York City, Washington, D.C., or San Francisco, plus a $1,000 gift certificate from The North Face. Happy 41st Birthday to Sesame Street! We grew up watching this show and had our kids watch the program as well after finding it just as educational, relevant, and comforting. Sure, we don't have a lot of emotional investment in some of the newer characters (we need more Guy Smiley!!) but this is still the highest quality program for pre-schoolers available. We're resolved to somehow making it on set in order to fulfill that childhood dream that several million people probably have. Here's to another 41 years Sesame Street!
