TV Junkie: 'No Ordinary Family' Premieres on ABC; 'Butters' DVD Giveaway
Tonight is the premiere of ABC's "No Ordinary Family" (see photos that I snapped of the cast above). While I think it's admirable that the creators and producers are attempting to create an action show for the entire family to enjoy, I worry that the action-y parts will be too watered down and the family interactions too cutes-y upped for the show to grab the required viewership. We're fans of Michael Chiklis and think Julie Benz was great on "Dexter" and are eager to see their collaboration but wonder how much one can plan for success. We don't recall Steve Levitan planning to make "Modern Family" a comedy for the entire family to watch but it has turned out have that success against all the naysayers: "There's too many people in the cast", "A series with a same sex couple won't make it in prime time", etc.
Let's see what risks will be taken with tonight's superhero family. "No Ordinary Family", ABC @ 10pm.
