TV Junkie: With USA Out How Much Will World Cup Viewership Drop? 'Dexter' Writer Gets Own Gig
"Neighbours From Hell" on TBS at 10pm will guest-star Jane Lynch
Saturday's USA vs Ghana soccer match was the most watched World Cup game in US history, but now that the US has been eliminated, along with another US fave, England, will you continue to watch the World Cup? Methinks that the more casual viewers are going to have a hard time getting excited about tomorrow's Japan vs Paraguay match.
Former "Dexter" producer/writer Clyde Phillips, whom we saw atPaleyFest2010's "Dexter" night, just signed on with Lionsgate Television (producers of "Mad Men", "Nurse Jackie", "Weeds") in a deal that will allow him to stay on the East coast while working on a yet-to-be-named series. This is great news as Phillips was a driving force behind the epic season 4 of "Dexter" - a season that probably saved the show. We can't wait to see what he'll be involved with.
Last week we wrote about reality TV contestants not really winning much of anything despite the public humiliation. According to the LA Times, children on reality TV shows have even less protection than other participants. How'd you like to be haunted for the rest of your lifetime by some stupid show your parents entered your family in and not even be compensated for it?
Jane Lynch of "Glee" will be guesting on tonight's "Neighbors From Hell" on TBS at 10pm. This is a pretty good show, not because the art and animation is incredibly fantastic, but because its regular cast features great performers like: Will Sasso, Molly Shannon, Patton Oswalt, and the amazing Kurtwood Smith.
