TV Junkie: 'Justified' Premieres; 'The Pacific' Slow on Both Plot and Viewers

Timothy Olyphant sports a cowboy hat and a lot of 'tude in tonight's premiere of "Justified" on FX at 10pm

Tonight's big premiere is "Justified" on FX at 10pm. We love Timothy Olyphant and Walter Goggins and we wish that FX had sent us some screeners because all we've got to go on is the promo which looks heavy on 'tude and low on plot. That being said we're going to go with "Southland" at 10pm on TNT because these unaired episodes have been so consistently good. We'll catch "Justified" on a repeat.
HBO's "The Pacific" aired to 3.1 million viewers at 9pm on Sunday which is only about 69% more than the time period average. This could be disappointing as "The Pacific" is the biggest/most expensive production HBO has ever gone out on and it's hype machine has been going full-blast for ages (we first wrote about the series last September). We've heard that the 2nd half of the mini-series is better than the first but since we haven't received any screeners, this could just be more hype. We thought the premiere was a bit slow and the characters a little remote but we're ready to warm up to it.
The TV Junkie Plan: "X-Play", "Samurai", "Lost", "Southland", "The Daily Show" (Jude Law), Letterman (Jimmy Kimmel and Snoop Dogg), Fallon (Kristen Stewart and Dr. Drew).
